The Duclair duck is a dual-purpose breed of duck originated from France. The breed is known as Canard Duclair in French and Duclair Enten. Duclair duck is raised for both eggs and meat production.
Along with the blue version is called being comparable and bears a whole lot of resemblance to the Blue duck. At times it’s very tricky to tell the differences between these two duck strains. On November 23, 1923, official standards were established for its Duclair duck.
As a medium-sized duck strain, Duclair ducks are classed. There are two varieties of the Duclair duck; Black and the Blue.
Both varieties have a white bib and white feather on each wing. Some farmers clarified the Duclair duck as a ‘classic manky Mallard’ that has a green head and bibs.
Along with also a black, solid brown, or a blue grey-body.
The normal bodyweight of the Duclair duck is about 2.5 kg. Along with the drakes on weight approximately 3 kg.
Duclair duck temperament

Duclair duck is simple to tame and very calm in nature. That’s why it is thought of as a great duck for those beginners and also very great as pets.
Duclair ducks are great foragers and do nicely as free or pasture array birds that are grown. The breed is lively and very hardy.
And while foraging, they generally hunt for invertebrates like flies, beetles, dragonflies, caddisflies, gastropods, worms, and a vast assortment of crustaceans.
They want to forage for slugs and snails. Even the Duclair ducks are fantastic layers of eggs. Their eggs have been bluish-green in color and they create approximately 80 to 100 eggs annually.
