Angora bunny is among the oldest national rabbit breed collection originating in Angora (now which is named Ankara), Turkey.
The Angora is a mixture, not a breed and was bred for it is soft and long wool. Angora rabbit was popular as pets by royalty in the 18th century. And then spread to the other sections of Europe at the close of the century.
In the United States, the Angora rabbit appeared in the 20th century and the breed was bred mainly because of it Angora wool. Its wool might be readily removed by combing, plucking or shearing.
There are many individual breeds of Angora bunny variety. Such as Chinese, English, French, German, Korean, Swiss, Giant, Finnish, Satin and St. Lucian. But all the strains aren’t accepted by the American Rabbit Breeder’s Association. The American Rabbit Breeder’s Association, which can be ; Satin, English, French and Giant recognizes Just four varieties.
The Angora rabbit is also a common breed. But it’s not recognized by the American Rabbit Breeder’s Association. Rather it’s it’s very own association, the IAGARB (International Association of German Angora Rabbit Breeders). Here we are shortly describing about four ARBA recognized Angora rabbit breeds.
The size of Angora bunny vary depending on the type. Typically, the Angora rabbit is small and has a round appearance.
They are primarily bred for their good excellent wool, and this is soft and glossy. Their wool is finer and softer than cashmere.
Based on the type, their normal body weight can be between 2.0 and 5.5 kg or even bigger. Physical attributes vary depending on the type of Angora rabbit. So here we are describing about four ARBA breeds.
English
Language Angora rabbits are mild in character. But they require regular grooming. A week, their wool is quite compact and has to be dressed. So it is not a recommended breed for people who don’t groom their animals.
English Angora rabbit is the smallest breed of the four recognized breeds. And it’s the rabbit strain that has hair covering it is eyes. ARBA accepted English Angora rabbit varieties are; agouti, divided, self, shaded brown and pointed out white. It is typical body weight is about 2.0-3.5 kg.
French
French Angora rabbits are somewhat bigger in size using a commercial physique. It’s a large under coating. Plus it differs from the Giant, German and English angora and it possesses front feet and a face, with just minor.
Their fiber includes silky texture. Features of this Angora bunny’s fiber include it’s light weight, heat, texture and pristine white color. ARBA accepted forms of Angora bunny are agouti yourself, ticked, wide band white, shaded and it can be broken and brownish tones.

Giant
Giant Angora rabbits are the biggest inside this variety known by the ARBA. They create more wool than English, the Satin or French Angora.
They mostly look in ruby-eye white color. They have a commercial form body with a dense coat of wool. Their mind is oval in appearance which is widespread across the forehead and thinner at the muzzle.
Their ears are softly fringed and well tasseled, plus they have eyebrow tufts and cheek furnishings. White is the variety of Giant Angora rabbits known by the ARBA. Their average body weight is up to 5.5 kg.
Satin
The Satin Angora rabbits are due to cross breeding involving a Satin plus a French Angora bunny. They don’t create as much wool as Angora rabbit breeds.
Their wool needs to have a silky texture, higher luster with hair that is good. Agouti pointed broad and white band are the ARBA varieties.
Typical body weight of this Satin Angora bunny is between 3.0 and 4.5 kg.
Angora rabbits benefits
Angora rabbits are mainly preserved for their good quality wool manufacturing. They are great for raising pets.
Most of those Angora rabbits are all very calm and docile in nature. They are quite adorable and intelligent creatures. If given space they are quite friendly with people and love to perform. They enjoy playing with humans. They should be handled carefully.
For preventing their fiber grooming is a must. The typical lifespan of Angora rabbit is about 7-12 years if maintained indoors and well cared for.
