The Silver Marten rabbit is really a domestic breed of rabbit which was created in the United States. The strain was created as an offshoot in the Chinchilla rabbit from the mid-1920s. The ‘Silver Marten’ is both the name of a breed and a shade.

Variety of the Silver Marten rabbit strain is abundant, dark brown in color and has brown eyes. Along with also, the Sable Silver Marten is less common. They may be of moderate sepia brown color.
Their face, tail, and ears, external of the feet and lower thighs are extremely dark sepia brown (nearly black).
Silver Marten is a moderate-sized rabbit strain and their average body fat is between 2.9 and 3.9 kg when fully grown.

The Marten rabbit is highly well known in displays and in pet displays. They are extremely excellent as pets and are known as ‘lovable and magical’ pets. The strain is also great for meat production.
