Jutland cattle breed information

The Jutland cattle are a strain of cows which are increased for both beef and milk production.

They are a breed of cattle from Denmark where they are used for meat and milk. Herdbook for the strain had a dairy type plus a larger beef type, also was published in 1881.

These creatures were modest with a normal weight of 350 kg. And the cows produced about 800 to 1000 kg of milk per lactation.

Jutland cattle breed information

Modern Jutland cattle are medium sized creatures (although they were smaller in dimension previously). They’re separate in coloration. Plus they can be light gray, dark grey or pied. Both bulls and cows have horns, and their horns are curving.

The height of the Jutland bulls is approximately 132 cm for those cows and about 145 cm at the withers. The cows on typical weight about 550 kg. And the average live body weight of the bulls is approximately 1000 kg.

However, the strain was reversed with Dutch Black and White cattle in the first half of the 20th century to significantly improve their milk production.

This crosses along with cattle were accepted into the herdbook from the 1949as well as their title was changed to Danish Black and White Cattle.

The last purebred bull was shown in 1955. The Jutland cows breed was rebuilt since 1987, employing unregistered stock from farms that had prevented crossing their creatures.

There were 49 breeders using 121 cows in 2004 and a total of 11 bulls. Aid is provided by the Danish government for keeping this strain, to the breeders.
