Lithuanian Red cattle breed facts

The Lithuanian Red cattle are double purpose animals. They are suitable for both meat and milk production. They are breed of cows in Lithuania.

Lithuanian Red cattle are a very common breed in Lithuania. And they currently account for roughly 1/3 of their total cattle population in Lithuania.

When intensively fattened approximately 413 kilograms are weighted by steers as yearlings. The Lithuanian Red cows were developed as a dairy cattle breed, however they’re also kept for meat production.

They are maintained as a dual-purpose animal in most of the farms.

Lithuanian Red cattle are medium-large sized animal. The cattle are of colour that is red as the name implies.

They have horns that are forward-oriented and hoofs. The cows on moderate weight about 470-520 kg, and bodyweight of their bulls is up to 750 kg.
