As a real Bully Soldier, I have to tell, the reality can never be too much for an actual animal soldier. It’s about exposing the truth and opening eyes, letting people know what’s really going on. It’s not about shock value.
It’s a war that we’re fighting, and the truth is grim. In my view, those who select and choose what truths they see are not truly in it for the animals. Sometimes, for the greater good of animals, you must swallow your emotions, because their lives are more important than our feelings. So, Soldiers, suck it up! Because, in this war, this IS the truth we’re dealing with.
People ask me this, all of the time, so I am going to cover it again here. Because it still amazes me how many people are unaware of this subject.
What is a dog with bait?
Basically, a bait dog is a punching bag for game dogs (fighting). Except that all of us know that dogs don’t punch, bite and tear. Dog fighters use bait dogs to allow their game dogs, without being harmed in the process, to practise mutilating another dog.
They will either use duct tape to tape the bait dog’s mouth shut, or break their teeth so that the bait dog can’t fight back, to ensure that their dogs are not harmed. Either they put them in a pit, or they tie them to a tree or a pole, so they can’t get away from the dogs in the game. And I did say dogs, plural, because they generally unleash several dogs on one bait dog at the same time. Since there is competition, it makes game dogs more aggressive.
To me, this about the most horrific form of animal abuse there is. I know that’s hard to weigh, since there are so many types of cruelty, but using bait dogs is right up there at the top. The majority of bait dogs in the crowds do not survive, and obviously suffer horrific deaths, spend their last moments in aggravating agony and, before it comes, are scared to death. Many that do survive, physically and mentally, are maimed and scarred for life.
I’ve saved bait dogs, others that haven’t been used yet, and they’ve used a few that have survived. It’s the saddest thing you’ll ever see, I have to tell you, looking into the soul of a dog just made weak and defenceless, and mutilated by his own kind, by the hand of a human being. I’ve seen these dogs make wonderful recoveries and have the opportunity to settle into a normal life.
The most prominent example of this is Oogy, and I’m sure all of you know him well. If you don’t, you need to read and get his book “Oogy: The Dog Only A Family Could Love”. It really is a storey that is beautiful and heart-wrenching. It’s also really inspiring, I must admit. You’ll understand why so many of us are so passionate about our battle to save bullies and avoid dogfighting if you read any of these books.
Any dog can be a bait-dog. It may be a dog of yours. While they choose to use non-aggressive or submissive Pit Bulls (the monsters that use them), they can readily use anything they can get for free.
They use them as bait dogs when they have pits that don’t fight, or don’t fight well. They’re well known for stealing pet bullies from other people as well. If they can, they can take them right out of your yard or fence.
They’re still going to take every other dog they can get their hands on, however. They need hair, flesh, blood and meat to recreate a dog fight when it comes down to it, so anything with all of that is fair game. We found a Golden Retriever, a Dobie, a GSD, a few Chows, a Lab mix, and a tiny Benji-like puppy, all of which were to be used as bait.
The Golden belonged to the dog fighter’s neighbour and had vanished a few days before that. How thankful they were to have him back unscathed, you can imagine. So yeah, it’s a possibility that every dog is a bait dog.
Dogs are used for killing bears, coyotes and other predatory animals as bait as well. They even use them as shark bait, but right there, that’s quite another topic.
If people really knew what was going on out there, they would stand up and do something about so many more of them. That’s why it’s my responsibility to teach them and get them to open their eyes, as well as yours.
And they’re going to wake up, pull their heads out of the sand and stand with us in our battle to make a difference and make a difference. This needs to be avoided. For their acts, the sub-humans who do this must be punished severely, not slapped on the wrist, as Sick Vick was. We are the only hope and defence against these predators of our own kind that these neglected animals have.
We have to stand up for them and fight back against abusers like that. We’re the voice of the voiceless, and we’re not going to sit down, we’re not going to be silenced, we’re not going to go anywhere… ever! Never To Lose, Never To Give Up! They count on us……
