The Whitebred Shorthorn cattle are a British breed of cattle that are raised chiefly for meat. It’s also known as the White Shorthorn. Exact history of the cow’s breed’s origin is still unknown.
Along with the strain was noticed in the 19th century as it was called the Cumberland White. The Whitebred Shorthorn cattle located in northwest England and southwest Scotland. Mr. David Hall of Larriston, Newcastleton Roxburghshire was among founders and the first pioneers of the strain.
Suckled calves were along with Mr. Andrew Park Bailey, of Stelshaw, Cumberland sold by Mr. David Hall at Newcastleton suckler earnings.
These two breeders Mr David Hall and Mr Andrew Park had found the Blue-grey to be fast maturing strain of cows and highly valued for meat production.

Whitebred Shorthorn cattle characteristics
Whitebred Shorthorn cattle are moderate sized cattle with a moderate sized frame and conformation.
They are white in colour with an outer coat of a mossy undercoat and hair.
They’ve a profound body with firm fleshing. They have line that is straight, a wide muzzle, broad in the pins.The cows have compact udder with moderate sized teats.
The bulls on weigh around 800-900 kg and the cows is 550-600 kg.
